About

The fifth EPS Conference on Gravitation will be held online from December 9th to December 12th, 2024 at the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, Czech Republic. This event follows up on previous successful conferences including the inaugural meeting in Rome (2019), and last year's meeting in Valencia (2023).

Scientific focus: General relativity is a beautiful, but highly complex theory in terms of its field content, invariant structure and the nature of its dynamical equations. Describing gravitational phenomena beyond a weak-field regime and in the absence of global symmetries requires refined computational methods. Progress in understanding black hole properties, binary systems, the early universe, and astrophysical environments depends critically on further developing our computational tool box. This conference will bring together gravity researchers with a broad range of backgrounds, who are at the forefront of developing and applying numerical approximation and simulation techniques, as well as new analytical methods. We aim for a constructive and interactive meeting, including discussions on the future challenges and opportunities for computation in classical and quantum gravity.

The registration fees are €180 for regular participants and €135 for students and EPS members.

Abstract submission is currently open.

Participation opportunities for this conference include:

            • Plenary highlight talks

            • Round tables

Participants interested in proposing contributions should submit abstracts after the registration on the Indico site of the conference.
